"I wandered lonely as a cloud"
Today is Daffodil Day, a fundraising and awareness day for the Cancer Council of NSW. It gives me the chance to refocus on the memory of friends who have succumbed and those who have survived cancer. A good friend's Mum, who had a masectomy, then went into remssion, then caught it again and passed away. Another lady, not too much older than I am who lingered and then succumbed. A couple of guys I happily call friends. One (with whom I was in the Navy) and is apparently winning his fight agains leukemia, and another, a HWP (highway patrol officer) who fought leukemia, and then a few years later was hospitalised with cancer and beat that. All these people, and thousands of others have their own personal stories to tell and today is a chance to empathise and support them. I'm proud to say that choir supports the Breast Cancer Society of NSW.
Have a good weekend all.
